Back To Basics For Moth Removal!
If you are thinking that your Moth problem seems worse this year than before you are probably right. This is apparently one of the worst years for Moth Infestations and now with the days getting longer and weather warmer we are all opening our windows, no doubt with the lights on in the evenings. Don’t make things easy for them! If this sounds like you make sure you shut the wardrobe doors and if possible turn off the lights because getting back to basics can be the best way to deal with it! But whether you’ve had Moths in your home before or not, getting rid of them is a continuous job which isn’t as simple as putting a few Moth Deterrents around the house and leaving it at that.
Firstly, if you haven’t already done so you should download our FREE 10 POINT HOW TO GET RID OF MOTHS GUIDE, which is packed with top tips to help you remove the moth menace!
Find out where you have Moths and take action as mentioned in our guide. One product and one technique will not work on all areas of your house. For example if you have Carpet Moths your first action would be to thoroughly vacuum – and that means removing the end attachment on your vacuum cleaner and spend time making sure you clean all areas of the carpet or rug effected. Only after you have done this treat it with a Moth Deterrent such as the Orphea Salvalana Spray which is currently one of our top selling products because it’s such a great all rounder being so versatile. Because it’s in a practical & easy to use spray it’s ideal to use on carpets or rugs (by the way it’s also ideal for heavy and bulky garments such as overcoats and can also be used on bedding, blankets).
Empty and vacuum any drawers and wardrobes that are showing signs of Moths occupation and then line them with tissue paper – that goes for any drawer, bottom of wardrobe or shelf.
Clean your clothes before putting them away – whether in the wardrobe or in storage bags. Don’t forget using a Lint Remover such as the Sticky Roller Brush will remove any excess dirt or hairs – if you put clothes without doing this any hairs/dirt may embed into the fabric and this is ideal for Moths, so also brush them with a Sticky Brush to remove this dirt.
Needless to say use Moth Deterrents and regularly replace them. Many people take the relevant measures then place Moth Deterrents in their storage bags, wardrobes, drawers etc. but because the problem goes away they forget they need to replace them on a regular basis!
